Quilter’s Quest is our annual 12-month sampler program designed to help you build skills, stay motivated, and have fun while stitching a beautiful quilt one block at a time. For 2026, we’ll be creating the Spring Sampler—a cheerful, garden-inspired quilt featuring floral blocks and a butterfly, set on point with striking sashing and borders.

Whether you’re a confident beginner or a seasoned quilter, Quilter’s Quest offers a supportive, creative community with just the right amount of structure to keep you moving forward.

💸 Registration

  • One-time $20 registration fee
  • Registration is available now
  • Join anytime during the program
  • Attend monthly Quilter’s Quest gatherings (discussion-style)
  • Participate in Show & Tell
  • Be eligible for monthly prizes
  • Participate in person or online

🧵 Monthly Blocks

Each month, registered participants receive:

  • A block pattern
  • A featured fabric piece from Cactus Quilt Shop

Participants must include the featured fabric somewhere in each block, in any location or amount they choose.

⏰ On-Time Finish Reward

If your completed block is submitted by the 1st Saturday of the month at 4:00 PM Arizona time, you will receive:

  • Next month’s block pattern
  • Next month’s fabric pieces

If you miss the deadline, you may continue by purchasing the monthly block kit for:

  • $5 per month

🎁 Monthly Prize Drawing

Each month during the Quilter’s Quest gathering, we will draw for a:

  • $20 Cactus Quilt Shop gift certificate

To be eligible:

  • Your block must be completed
  • Your block must be submitted by the deadline
  • Your block (or photo) must be displayed
  • You must be present at the gathering (in person or online)

If your name is drawn and you are not in attendance, another winner will be selected.

📸 Block Display & Online Participation

In-person participants:

  • Bring completed blocks to the shop and leave them for display in the classroom

Online participants:

  • Email a clear photo of your completed block by the deadline

Submitted blocks will be:

  • Displayed in the classroom for the following week
  • Shared in the private Cactus Quilt Shop Friends Facebook group

🧺 Fabric Options

Background Kits (Available Anytime)
  • Offered in low-volume or tone-on-tone prints
  • Cut to yardage needed for the quilt top
  • Helpful for quilters who want a cohesive look
  • Useful for late joiners catching up
Finishing Kits (Available Mid-Year)
  • Offered around mid-year
  • Cut to order
  • Include fabric for:
    • Sashing
    • Cornerstones
    • Setting triangles
    • Borders

Participants may:

  • Order a curated finishing kit
  • Use fabrics from their stash

🧷 Quilter’s Quest Gatherings

  • Held on the 2nd Saturday of each month
  • Discussion-style, not sewing in class
  • Include a block walk-through and tips
  • Include Show & Tell (one item per person)
  • Include the monthly gift certificate drawing
  • Include distribution of next month’s block (for eligible participants)

🏁 Finish Line Bonus

Spring Sampler quilt tops that are completed by the January 2027 Quilter’s Quest meeting will qualify for a:

  • Special long-arm quilting discount at Cactus Quilt Shop
