Is your quilt top ready for quilting, but you’re not sure how to start? This beginner-friendly class is the perfect next step after piecing. Taught by Brenda Smitley, you’ll learn the basics of machine quilting on your own domestic sewing machine—including straight-line quilting, gentle curves, and how to keep those quilt layers behaving.

We’ll cover the tools, techniques, and simple designs that make a big impact. You’ll build confidence, discover how fun machine quilting can be, and leave with the foundation you need to finish your projects with ease.

A Quick Note About Class Supplies:  Your class fee covers instruction only—supplies are sold separately. You’ll receive a detailed supply list outlining exactly what you’ll need for class. 🌟Many of the items will be available at Cactus Quilt Shop, and registered students receive 10% off all class-related purchases after signing up!

Class Cancellation Policy for Cactus Quilt Shop Classes:  We get it—plans change. If you need to cancel, please do so at least 7 days before your class for a full refund. Cancellations made less than 7 days in advance are non-refundable.  If you're feeling ill on the day of class, please call the shop before class begins.
