Beginning Quilting
Project Class
Start (or Restart!) Your Quilting Journey with Confidence 🌵
Your first quilt starts here!
Brand new to quilting? Coming back after a break? Join Nancy Schottler for five hands-on sessions that take you from choosing fabric to assembling a lap-size quilt top. You’ll learn the basics step by step, with room to ask questions, practice, and enjoy the process.
We’ll start by exploring color, value, and fabric selection together. You don’t need to choose your fabric before the first class—we’ll help you find a combination you love.
From there, you’ll learn to read a pattern, cut fabric safely, sew a consistent ¼" seam, and put your blocks and rows together. Nancy will also walk you through borders, backing, batting, and your options for finishing your quilt.
What you’ll learn
- How to read a quilt pattern
- Color and fabric selection
- Rotary cutting and safety
- Piecing and the ¼" seam
- Pressing, blocks, and row assembly
- Borders, backing, batting, and preparing for quilting
Your class includes a beginner-friendly pattern, take-home handouts, and Nancy’s patient, practical instruction. Once registered, you’ll also receive 10% off quilting tools.
