Back by request—and better than ever!
Whether you’re brand new to quilting or picking it back up after some time away, our Beginning Quilting class is the perfect place to begin (again). We’ve created a relaxed, encouraging space where you can learn at your own pace, ask questions freely, and enjoy every stitch along the way.
Over five friendly, hands-on sessions, you’ll build a strong foundation in quilting basics—from reading a simple pattern to mastering that all-important ¼" seam. Step by step, you’ll create a cheerful lap-size quilt that you’ll be proud to show off (and actually finish!).
No pressure, no perfection required—just good company, helpful guidance, and plenty of “you’ve got this!” moments.
On day one, we’ll explore color, value, and fabric selection together. No need to bring supplies—we’ll help you choose a fabric combination you love, with plenty of support from our team.
Starting from scratch? Don’t worry—we’re putting together a Beginner Quilter Bundle filled with our favorite beginner must-haves. More details coming soon!
You’ll also receive easy-to-follow handouts, a beginner-friendly pattern, and thoughtful instruction from Nancy Schottler, who has a gift for making quilting feel approachable, fun, and just a little bit addictive.

A Quick Note About Class Supplies: Your class fee covers instruction only—supplies are sold separately. You’ll receive a supply list by email outlining what you’ll need for class. 🌟Many of the items will be available at Cactus Quilt Shop, and registered students receive 10% off all class-related purchases after signing up!
Class Cancellation Policy: We get it—plans change. If you need to cancel, please do so at least 7 days before your class for a full refund. Cancellations made less than 7 days in advance are non-refundable.If you're feeling ill on the day of class, please call the shop before class begins. We care about the health of our quilting community and will gladly issue a store credit so you can join us when you’re well.
