Our newly redesigned Beginning Quilting Series kicks off with this fun and approachable class—perfect for anyone who has never quilted before. In just two sessions, you’ll learn the essential skills and complete a simple, satisfying project you’ll be proud to show off.

No overwhelm. No guesswork. Just clear, step-by-step instruction in a friendly, supportive environment.

Instructor Leslie Cohen will guide you through the very basics—from cutting and piecing to assembling your quilt top—while helping you build confidence with each step. Using a Sassy Sunflower Half Pack, this project is not only beautiful but also budget-friendly, making it an easy and enjoyable way to get started.

By the end of class, you won’t just understand quilting… you’ll have done it.

And the best part? This is just the beginning. Once you’ve completed 101, you’ll be ready to continue your journey with the next levels in our series—201 and 301.

A Quick Note About Class Supplies:  Your class fee covers instruction only—supplies are sold separately. You’ll receive a supply list by email outlining what you’ll need for class. 🌟Many of the items will be available at Cactus Quilt Shop, and registered students receive 10% off all class-related purchases after signing up!

Class Cancellation Policy:  We get it—plans change. If you need to cancel, please do so at least 7 days before your class for a full refund. Cancellations made less than 7 days in advance are non-refundable.If you're feeling ill on the day of class, please call the shop before class begins. We care about the health of our quilting community and will gladly issue a store credit so you can join us when you’re well.
