Nancy's Corner , or .  .  .  As the Needle Turns!

“Holy Heat Wave, Batman!”  It’s summertime in Arizona!!  Turn down the air conditioning and prepare to quilt.  Cactus Quilt Shop has a fabulous “industrial strength” cooler and we
look forward to seeing you this summer!  We are scheduling “open sew” mornings, sort of a summer camp for grown-up quilters.  So, bring a friend, and a project, and take advantage of our  “cool” classroom.  Or, baste a quilt on our big classroom tables.  We’ll be there Monday through Saturday from 9:30am to 4:00 pm.  Yes, it’s time for Summer Hours,
we will close at 4:00 pm every business day between Memorial and Labor Day.  

Our basic quilting classes all return for the summer, along with a few new projects that
just might be perfect for Christmas gifts, check it out!  Christmas fabric arrives in June and July, and even though I try not to order too much, well, we’ll see!  Our “Oldies-but-Goodies” Club returns  to the 1930’s this summer with a charming sampler quilt designed by Lori Smith for “From-My-Heart-to-Your-Hands”.  This is one-block-of-the-month you can join anytime.

 Mark your calendar for our annual “Halibut” Sale.  You know, a sale just for the “halibut”! 
On Saturday, July 26, all retail priced fabric will be 25% off.  We’ll be in our best beach party
paraphernalia and ready to “rock on!”
 Recently I contacted Sarah King, who lives in Clearwater, Florida.  Sarah operates Quilt
Tours and runs them both nationally and internationally.  She is planning a tour to the
Tucson Quilt Show, and then on to Mexico.  Part of the tour agenda is a visit to Cactus Quilt Shop!   If you would like to join the group for a trip to Mexico, you can find more information at www.paducahquilts.com 

Please note we will be closed on Friday and Saturday, July 4th and 5th for Independence Day and also on Monday, the 1st of September for Labor Day.  We shall be here Monday - Saturday, all summer long, just stitching away, rolling fat quarters, and looking forward to your next visit. Nancy's Sunday Sew-Ins
Sun. July 13, or Sept 14, Noon 8:00pm

Gather your friends, a favorite project (or two), and join Nancy for an all day sewing
marathon. You’ll be surprised at how muchyou get done. Bring a treat to share. Nancy
will provide a light supper and dessert, (usually one or more of David’s delectable
home-made pies!) Fee: $20.
