A Stripology Class with Rachel Joines

Join certified Stripology instructor Rachel Joines for Margot, a sophisticated quilt with a modern twist that beautifully showcases fabric contrast, value, and movement. This intermediate-level class is perfect for quilters ready to expand their Stripology skills while creating a quilt with striking visual depth and elegant design elements.

Designed to work wonderfully with fat quarter bundles, ½-yard cuts, or favorite stash fabrics, Margot offers endless opportunities for personalization. Clever block construction and thoughtful fabric placement create movement throughout the quilt while keeping the sewing process organized and enjoyable.

This pattern is designed for use with the Stripology Squared or Stripology XL ruler, helping make cutting more efficient and piecing more accurate. Instruction for regular rulers is also included in the pattern, and students will receive guidance throughout class on using Stripology tools effectively and confidently.

Margot includes six size options ranging from Crib to King and features optional accent fabrics and border choices that allow students to create anything from a bold statement quilt to a softer, more refined finish.

Class instruction will run from 10:00 AM–2:00 PM, followed by optional open sew time until the shop closes at 4:00 PM. Students are welcome to stay, continue sewing, ask questions, and enjoy extra stitching time with fellow quilters.

Since this is a longer class day, feel free to bring snacks, drinks, or a sack lunch to enjoy while sewing.

Already started a Margot quilt? This class can also be a wonderful opportunity to get unstuck, refresh your Stripology skills, or make meaningful progress on a project already in the works. Students joining for a partial-day work session may attend for a reduced class fee of $20.
